PICK 'N' MIX REVIEWED |
|
I once heard writing described as being like dancing naked in public. If that is so, then being reviewed is like standing naked in Trafalgar Square while each passer-by inspects your every detail through a magnifying glass. But in a review of PICK’N’ MIX for Sphinx, the leading reviewer of poetry chapbooks, DA Prince said:
“… inventive … witty … touching … rude … life-enhancing … I shed tears of joy …”
And even the bits represented by the dots were almost as kind! So my exposed bits are less hideous than I had feared. Even so, I envy Nelson -- the Square’s main attraction and on view to millions, but fully clothed and out of the range of magnifying glasses!
